Obejrzałem go już ze 30 razy i za każdym razem nie mogłem ogarnąć co się właśnie wydarzyło. 8-bit era, stare przygodówki LucasArts, Wario, obłędnie błyskotliwa animacja, japońska zajawka na kakę i inne płyny ustrojowe, kreskówkowa pornografia... Ale hej, w Japonii mają jeszcze "eel porn" (rozwiązanie zagadki na VBS.tv).

Na początku nie byłem jakoś zachwycony. Mój błąd polegał na (błędnym) założeniu, że już to gdzieś widziałem (np. u Beck'a właśnie). Może i gdzieś tam, coś tam, ale nigdy tak utkane. Ten teledysk jest tak esencjonalny w swoim obrazie Nowej Dziwnej Ameryki, że, aż dostaje gęsiej skórki. To całe amerykańskie kino indie na talerzu. Kauffman, Jonze, Gondry, wszyscy są tu. No i pojedyncze perełki (jak dla mnie wanna, latynos z orzeszkiem-chyba Shrigley'a, jogging z mieczem, siekiera). Szkoda tylko, że boleśnie obnaża to papierowość i umowność (przeznaczenie: krótkie formy) tych wszystkich pomysłów, jak dobre i trafne by nie były, amerykańskich niezależnych filmowców. Już taki urok.

To akurat jest bezdyskusyjnie najlepszy teledysk jaki widziałem w tym roku. Zawsze chciałem zrobić wideo o bezkształtności (tyle możliwości, strasznie plastyczna sprawa). Mam swój ideał. Ta atmosfera, kolory... litości.

Augenblick Studios i nie ma tematu.

No i wszystko, ale TO WSZYSTKO co ma związek z Fever Ray (aspekt wizualny). Na początku nie rozumiałem, dlaczego jej płyta tak wysoko zawędrowała w rocznych podsumowaniach, kiedy to tylko duchowa kontynuacja Silent Shout bez absolutnie żadnych nowości czy odważniejszych posunięć. W sumie to cały czas się nad tym zastanawiam, ale po tym jak zobaczyłem jej teledyski i zdjęcia z koncertów to z miejsca zrozumiałem, dlaczego tyle się o niej mówiło. Dowód:

Detroit: state of mind. Między razowe bułeczki szaleństwo fryzur, kosmopolityczne fatałaszki i dzieciaki nie będą chodzić głodne. Jeśli o mnie chodzi to na powierzchni wygląda to jak lost classic, ale może przesadzam, zobaczymy. Kompakt (winyl?) w przyszłym roku.

Amboy Dukes - American rock music band of the late 1960s and early 1970s from Detroit, Michigan, best remembered for launching the career of Ted Nugent. Moby Grape - American group from the 1960s that collectively merged elements of folk music, blues, country, and jazz together with rock and psychedelic music. Due to the strength of their debut album, several critics consider Moby Grape to be the best rock band to emerge from the San Francisco music scene in the late sixties. The Count Five Formed in 1964 in San Jose, California, USA, Count Five were a classic one-hit wonder whose Yardbirds-inspired psychedelic-punk hit Psychotic Reaction, reached the US Top 5 in 1966.  They first drew attention by wearing Dracula-style capes to their gigs.
